C. procera

Popular for making lei, crown flowers are drought tolerant, easy to grow, and hold up well in lei or cut flower arrangements. This variety has flowers that are smaller than the classic C. gigantea, and have flowers that are purple and white. They are in the milkweed family and are a favorite host plant for Monarch butterflies. Sow seeds in a well drained medium and allow up to one month for germination.
